PRograms
At the West Hillhurst Community Preschool, we offer several classes for 3-5 year old children. Using a play-based curriculum, our children develop the social, emotional and intellectual skills to help them lay a strong foundation as they move forward to kindergarten. Using the in-house facilities of the community centre, including the ice rink and field, we are able to offer a selection of unique activities as part of our regular curriculum.
2026-2027 Program Updates
Afternoon Program (Monday-Thursday):
Two-day options with a $40 per month discount for families registering for all four days.
Lunch-Time Literacy Programs:
- Operating September–December and January–June, in alignment with preschool holidays.
- Smaller groups with one teacher for a more focused experience.
- Feedback from families has been overwhelmingly positive!
Private Friday Program:
Overseen by Giuliana, featuring Spanish, music, or other exciting activities. Spanish will also remain part of the Monday and Wednesday afternoon sessions.
Spanish Programming
The Preschool Spanish programming is a first approach to the language. Our native Spanish speaking teacher, Ms. Giulliana, introduces the kids to a new language through playful activities and music with passion, and discipline.
Two Day Programs
Tuesday/Thursday AM
Class time: 9 - 11:15 a.m.
Drop off: 8:45 a.m. - 9 a.m.
Pick up: 11:15 a.m.
Tuesday/Thursday PM
Class time: 12:45 p.m. - 3 p.m.
Drop off: 12:30 p.m. - 12:45 p.m.
Pick up: 3 p.m.
Monday/Wednesday PM (*Includes Spanish component)
Class time: 12:45 p.m. - 3 p.m.
Drop off: 12:30 p.m. - 12:45 p.m.

We will offer a Spanish component (colours, numbers, songs etc.) for the Monday/Wednesday afternoon class in the 2026-27 school year which will be taught by Ms. Giulliana.
Eligibility
2026-27: Children must turn three on or before the program start date, and be able to toilet independently.
Class Size
The maximum number of students in a class is 18. The class is led by a teacher with help from a teacher's assistant. A class with enrollment under 12 students may be subject to cancellation or reduced staffing.
