PRograms
At the West Hillhurst Community Preschool, we offer several classes for 3-5 year old children. Using a play-based curriculum, our children develop the social, emotional and intellectual skills to help them lay a strong foundation as they move forward through more formal schooling. Using the in-house facilities of the community centre including the ice rink and field, we are able to offer a selection of unique activities as part of our regular curriculum.
Spanish Programming
The Preschool Spanish programming is a first approach to the language. Our native Spanish speaking teacher, Ms. Guilliana, introduces the kids to a new language through playful activities and music with passion, and discipline.
Multi age 3-5 year olds
Schedule
The following classes are available for multi-age 3 to 5-year old's (Kindergarten aged students are eligible):
Morning class multi-age 3 to 5-year old's 8:45 a.m. -11:15 a.m.
Tuesday/Thursday
Class time: 9 - 11:15 a.m.
Drop off: 8:45 a.m. - 9 a.m.
Pick up: 11:15 a.m.
Afternoon classes multi-age 3 to 5-year old's 12:30 p.m. - 3 p.m.
Tuesday/Thursday
Class time: 12:45 p.m. - 3 p.m.
Drop off: 12:30 p.m. - 12:45 p.m.
Pick up: 3 p.m.
Monday/Wednesday/Friday (*Spanish component)
Class time: 12:45 p.m. - 3 p.m.
Drop off: 12:30 p.m. - 12:45 p.m.
Pick up: 3 p.m.
*Includes a Spanish component
We will offer a Spanish component (colours, numbers, songs etc.) for the Monday, Wednesday, Friday afternoon class in the 2023-24 school year which will be taught by Ms. Guilliana.
Eligibility
2023-24: Children must turn three on or before September 5, 2023, and be able to toilet independently.
Class Size
The maximum number of students in a class is 18. The class is led by a teacher with help from a teacher's assistant. A class with enrollment under 12 students may be subject to cancellation or reduced staffing.
Tuition for 2023-24
2 Day Programs: $170/month - less the $75 affordability grant totaling $95 out of pocket cost.
3 Day Programs: $215/month - less the $75 affordability grant totaling $140 out of pocket cost.
4-5 year olds
